LSU Museum of Art to Host Lunch, Lecture and Tour of “Revealed: Exquisite Gowns by Suzanne Perron” Exhibit May 2
BATON ROUGE – On Thursday, May 2, the LSU Museum of Art will host a special luncheon event where attendees can dine and hear a lecture from LSU alumna and New Orleans-based fashion designer Suzanne Perron, while also taking a guided tour through the museum’s current exhibit that features a collection of Perron-designed bridal gowns, debutante dresses and Mardi Gras gowns.
The event will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the museum’s Turner Gallery, located on the third floor of the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette Street, in downtown Baton Rouge.
“Revealed: Exquisite Gowns by Suzanne Perron” is on display through July 28 and features 13 bridal and Mardi Gras gowns designed by Perron between 2008 and 2013, including gowns worn by queens from some of the most recognized New Orleans krewes. Some of the bridal gowns were most recently illustrated in “Designing in Ivory and White,” a book published by LSU Press in 2012 with lavish color photographs taken by Jason Cohen.
The exhibition is made possible in part by support from Charles E. Schwing, Charlene M. Favre and Shelley Favre Zeringue, Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. Spaht, Dickie and Leslie Brennan, Stephen Black, Mr. and Mrs. Lynes R. Sloss, Ann and Robert S. Boh, Catalyst Event Solutions and One Cleaners.
A limited number of tickets are available for this event and can be purchased at the LSU Museum of Art Store, located on the first floor of the Shaw Center for the Arts, or by calling 225-389-7210 by Friday, April 26. Tickets are $35 each.
