LSU to Hold Ribbon Cutting for New Parking Garage April 5
BATON ROUGE – LSU will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, April 5, at 1 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the university’s new parking garage, located on Raphael Semmes Road between Highland Road and East Campus Drive, adjacent to the new Barnes & Noble@LSU Bookstore.
The ceremony will be held at the entrance to the parking garage on East Campus Drive, across from East Campus Apartments.
The public and the media are invited to attend. Several parking spaces will be reserved for members of the media inside the garage, but media will need to arrive by 12:40 p.m. in order to claim those spaces.
LSU Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Stuart Bell and Interim Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administrative Services and CFO Bob Kuhn are expected to attend the event, among other university officials.
The nearly 750 parking spaces in the garage are divided among student parking, faculty and staff parking, and paid meter parking, all with access from East Campus Drive.
Faculty and staff parking is available on the first floor of the garage. Paid metered parking is also available on the second, third and fourth floors for $1.50 per hour every day from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Student parking is located on the fifth and sixth floors of the garage, and the wand-accessed parking is reserved around-the-clock for assigned permits only.
