03/27/2013 10:46 AM

BATON ROUGE – The LSU College of Art & Design’s Distinguished Lecture Series presents landscape architect Christy Ten Eyck, who will speak on Wednesday, April 10, at 5 p.m. in Room 103 of the Design Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.

After an inspiring rafting trip down the Colorado River, Eyck moved from Texas to Arizona, where she established Ten Eyck Landscape Architects in 1997 seeking to connect the urban dweller with nature through her projects. After 22 years in Phoenix, she returned to her home state and started the Austin, Texas, studio in 2007. Throughout her career, Eyck has led large design teams and worked at diverse scales ranging from resort, campus, healthcare, botanical gardens, river restoration and residential garden design. She has received considerable recognition for her firm’s work, including honor awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, or ASLA, for the Arizona State University Biodesign Institute and the University of Arizona Underwood Family Sonoran Landscape Laboratory. She was inducted as an ASLA Fellow in 2003. More information is available at www.teneyckla.com.
