Free IMPACT Workshop Helps Students Improve GPA, Starts Jan. 11
BATON ROUGE – The LSU Center for Academic Success will be offering four two-hour sessions of the award-winning IMPACT program this spring, which helps students develop effective study and time management strategies.
The IMPACT program is free and, while targeted to first year and transfer students, is open to all LSU students. Registration is required and students can sign up online at http://cas.lsu.edu/impact.
In the two-hour sessions, students will learn strategies to help improve their grades, including the difference between high school and college exams, how to study effectively, how to better manage time and more information about free academic support resources. On average, students who attended the IMPACT sessions improved their grade point averages by 0.5 from the fall to spring semesters.
The first IMPACT session is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m.-noon in Coates Hall, Room 143. Other sessions are scheduled on Friday, Jan 11, and Sunday, Jan. 13, from 2-4 p.m. in Coates Hall, Room 143; and Thursday, Jan. 24, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in Peabody Hall, Room 225.
