Stephanie Mangus Awarded McKee Doctoral Study in Marketing Scholarship
BATON ROUGE –Stephanie Mangus, a Ph.D. candidate in LSU’s Department of Marketing, has been selected to receive the Daryl McKee Doctoral Study in Marketing Scholarship.
The scholarship was created in honor of late long-time LSU marketing professor Daryl McKee. McKee was an important contributor to the Ph.D. program. He passed away in 2007, after a six-year battle with cancer. After his death, faculty members and Ph.D. students donated money to establish the annual scholarship bearing his name.
“This award is such an honor because I was selected by my peers,” Mangus said. “To know that I’ve given back to such an amazing academic program and impacted my fellow students really adds meaning to the award.”
Mangus is a third-year doctoral student in the Department of Marketing. In addition to teaching principles of marketing to undergraduate students, she engages in a variety of research projects, including work in relationship marketing, consumer behavior and sales. She is currently working on her dissertation in the area of buyer-seller relationships in the sales context. Mangus received an MBA from the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Northern University’s Getty College of Arts and Sciences.
The Department of Marketing at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business prepares its students for careers in management, advertising, buying, product development, retailing and sales. Through its Internship in Marketing Program, students are able to apply the concepts and principles of the classroom and earn course credit for their practical work experience.
