LSU Business Homecoming Bash a Tremendous Success
BATON ROUGE – The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business successfully hosted Business Homecoming Bash, a tailgate primarily for alumni, prior to LSU’s 37-17 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday, Nov. 10. Held at the Business Education Complex, the event featured music provided by the Bucktown All-Stars and free food and drink.
According to LSU E. J. Ourso College Dean Richard D. White Jr., Business Homecoming Bash was a tremendous success, as alumni, student organizations, faculty and staff of the college took part in the gameday festivities.
“We had an incredible response, especially considering it was the first time the college has ever hosted a gameday tailgate,” White said. “The weather was perfect, the band was great, and it was all capped with a win. We could hardly have asked for a better day.”
Business Homecoming Bash kicked off four hours prior to the start of the game, allowing attendees the opportunity to mingle and network in both Virginia’s Courtyard of the BEC and The Rotunda, where food and beverages were served.
“For many of our alumni, this was their first chance to see the BEC,” White said. “They were certainly impressed with the college’s new home, and we are grateful we were able to reconnect with a few folks we hadn’t seen in a while.”
Officially, the bash ended one hour prior to kickoff, but that did not stop alumni, faculty, staff and students from remaining onsite for some time before leaving for the game or for another spot to watch the game.
Since its establishment in 1928, the E. J. Ourso College of Business has continuously improved and expanded its offerings for students and alumni. Additionally, the college has made it a priority to provide its faculty with the resources it needs to further research in every aspect of the business world and to produce industry leaders for a global work environment.
