Breakfast to Business to Offer Tips on Effective Feedback Methods

Kerry Sauley, the Marjory B. Ourso Excellence in Teaching Professor in the Rucks Department of Management at LSU, will be the next speaker in LSU Executive Education’s Breakfast to Business series. The event will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, in room 1420 of the Business Education Complex, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The Business Education Complex is located on Nicholson Drive Extension, next to Patrick F. Taylor Hall.

 

Sauley will address the challenges of delivering feedback in an organization. His presentation, “Turning Negative Feedback into Positive Results,” focuses on the reasons managers don’t give feedback, the importance of feedback in organizations and some of the common mistakes managers make in giving feedback to their employees.

 

“Managers often have difficulty communicating feedback to employees, especially when that feedback is not all positive or an employee is not receptive to receiving it,” stated LSU Executive Education Director Robin Kistler. “Kerry will share tips on how to take the dread out of having those crucial conversations with team members.”

 

Registration for the event is $25 per participant, which includes a full breakfast, coffee, juice and the opportunity to meet with LSU experts and business professionals from the Baton Rouge area. LSU students, staff and faculty may register at a reduced rate of $20. Members of SCORE, Louisiana Tech Park, Louisiana Business & Technology Center, and Center for Emerging Technology also receive a reduced event fee of $20. The event had originally been scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 18.

 

Breakfast to Business is a bi-monthly program presented by LSU Executive Education, which is housed in the LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute. The aim of the program is to provide timely, practical information and solutions regarding current business topics that affect the Baton Rouge community from a local, regional and national perspective.
