BATON ROUGE – The 2012 edition of Louisiana Looking Up, which will be held Thursday, Sept. 13, has been finalized.

Premier sponsors for the event will be Stonetrust Commercial Insurance Company and Talk 107.3 FM, and major sponsors are Entergy, The Shaw Group, Coca-Cola, BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana and The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report. Louisiana Looking Up will be held in the Business Education Complex from 1:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. LSU System President and Chancellor William Jenkins will deliver the welcome address.

The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association has hosted Louisiana Looking Up annually since 2004 to celebrate entrepreneurship in Louisiana and to benefit the LSU Flores MBA Program in its globalization efforts.

Cost for the event is $100.00 for individuals, $50.00 for MBA alumni and $25 for LSU Flores MBAs. Registration online is available at http://business.lsu.edu/alumni-external-relations/Flores-MBA-Alumni-Association/Pages/LLU-Registration.aspx.

Christel Slaughter, principal of SSA Consultants, will serve as emcee for Louisiana Looking Up 2012. In addition to being an inductee of the college’s Hall of Distinction, Slaughter is an adjunct faculty member of the LSU Flores MBA Program and was a member of LSU’s faculty for seven years before joining SSA Consultants.

Lenny Lemoine, president of the Lemoine Company, will appear as the event’s keynote speaker. The Lemoine Company oversaw the construction of the BEC, and Lemoine actually appeared in the LSU Flores MBA Program’s Distinguished Speaker Series in late 2011 in the BEC’s Distinguished Leaders Lecture Hall, marking the first time the facility was officially used.

Three diverse panelists from varied backgrounds have been selected to participate in this year’s installment of Louisiana Looking Up and to share their stories of entrepreneurship and wisdom. They are:

  • Don Chachere, president & CEO of Tony Chachere’s Creole Foods Inc.
  • Teri Fontenot, president & CEO of Woman’s Hospital
  • Matthew Magnuson, president, CTO & Co-founder of St. James Technologies
