Registration for Summer 2012 Leisure Classes Has Begun
BATON ROUGE – Members of the LSU and greater Baton Rouge communities can use their leisure time to discover a new craft, polish a skill or learn to play a sport or musical instrument without investing a lot of time or money. The LSU Student Union Summer 2012 Leisure Class brochure and registration form are now available online at www.lsu.edu/leisureclasses.
Leisure Classes have something for everyone with classes in the following categories: calligraphy, clay, communication, culture & travel, dance, drawing & painting, fiver arts, fitness, health & sports, money, food & drink, games, glass crafts, home improvement, jewelry, landscaping & gardening, language, music, outdoors, paper crafts, personal growth, professional development, photography, woodcarving & woodworking, and writing.
Included in the summer schedule are 70 non-credit, personal enrichment classes, with 10 new and exciting topics. The new classes include archery, blogging for beginners, boating safety, bonsai workshop: improving design, deco mesh wreaths, enhance reading skills through music, interior decorating basics, portraiture with charcoal, sabre fencing and sell yourself: build a professional online portfolio.
Classes are small and spaces fill up quickly so those interested in participating are encouraged to register early. Prices are reasonable and discounts are available to LSU students and Leisure Classes members. Acceptable methods of payment include American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, personal check or cash.
