LSU to Hold Annual Chancellor’s Day Parade
BATON ROUGE – LSU and Cadets of the Ole War Skule will host the annual Chancellor’s Day Parade on Thursday, April 26, at 3 p.m. at the LSU War Memorial on the Parade Ground. The joint ROTC awards ceremony will be held in the LSU Union Theater immediately after the parade, with a reception following in Memorial Oak Grove. Both events are free and open to the public.
The Chancellor's Day Parade is an opportunity for the chancellor to acknowledge LSU’s military heritage, to re-assert the university's commitment to a military presence at LSU and express support for ongoing efforts to strengthen the Corps of the Cadets.
In addition, the Commandant of Cadets has often used this event as the official Change of Command Ceremony when the new Corps Commander officially takes command of the LSU Corps of Cadets.
This will be the first joint ROTC awards presentation ceremony, which is being held to recognize excellence in both military and academic performance. In previous years, the service branches have held separate awards presentation.
