LSU’s Third Annual Spring Greening to Take Place Friday, April 27
Volunteers will mulch, plant flowers and shrubs across campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
BATON ROUGE – LSU’s annual Spring Greening Day will take place on Friday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Students, staff and faculty will participate in beautification projects across campus to both demonstrate and encourage a sense of pride and ownership in the university’s campus – widely renowned as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country – and to also educate volunteers about ongoing sustainability efforts and proper recycling procedures.
Specific activities will take place campus-wide, but some areas of interest include the Memorial Tower; the Tower Drive triangle at the intersection of Dalrymple; Howe Russell; and Life Sciences, among many other locations.
Spring Greening Day is co-sponsored by the Office of Landscape Services and the Division of Student Life and Enrollment’s Campus Life office in support of the Green Tiger Project. This movement is led by Jan Martin, wife of LSU Chancellor Michael Martin. The Campus Beautification Fund allows LSU alumni, friends and fans to make gifts to help with campus enhancement efforts through the LSU Foundation. The Albemarle Foundation is a sponsoring organization for this event.
