Financial Literacy Week to Feature Speaker Rachel Ramsey Cruze on April 23
BATON ROUGE – The LSU Student Financial Management Center, in partnership with State Farm, Campus Federal Credit Union and the LSU Department of Finance, are sponsoring Financial Literacy Week at LSU, April 23-27, with featured speaker Rachel Ramsey Cruze.
On Monday, April 23, Cruze, daughter of financial expert Dave Ramsey, will speak and take part in a question and answer session in the LSU Student Union Ballroom at 6 p.m. A meet-and-greet reception will immediately follow.
Growing up as a Ramsey kid, Cruze learned the basic principles of money at an early age. Dave and Sharon Ramsey taught her how to save, spend and give – valuable lessons she uses in everyday life. Today, she’s passing on those principles to others in her generation.
Cruze is an experienced communicator who has been speaking to audiences as large as 10,000 people since she was 15. Since joining her father’s team full time in 2010, she has traveled the country speaking about the dangers of credit cards and debt at high schools, colleges and youth conferences. She shows teens and young adults how to budget their money, intentionally save for things like cars and college and how to give.
Cruze has a B.A. in communication studies from the University of Tennessee. She lives with her husband, Winston, in Franklin, Tenn.
