Eric Monday Named MPA Alumnus of the Year, PAISA Day Set

BATON ROUGE – Eric Monday, the vice chancellor for finance and administrative services and chief financial officer at LSU, has been named the Master of Public Administration Alumnus of the Year by the LSU Public Administration Institute.


PAI and the Public Administration Institute Student Association will co-host PAISA Day, on Wednesday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Louisiana Old State Capitol, located at 100 North Boulevard.


PAISA Day honors current students, MPA Alumni, Pi Alpha Alpha inductees and the LSU PAI Alumnus of the Year.


Monday graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and subsequently enrolled in the MPA program. Presently, he is completing his Ph.D. at LSU.
In his role as vice chancellor for finance and administrative services and CFO, Monday’s responsibilities include a wide range of business services and auxiliary enterprises that provide for the financial, administrative and operational responsibilities for the university. Finance and Administrative Services consists of more than 1,500 employees and a budget of more than $120 million.


Monday, who was named one of Baton Rouge Business Report’s Forty under 40 in 2008, has previously served in several other leadership positions for the university, including interim vice chancellor for Student Life and interim director for Emergency Operations. His areas of interest include business services at colleges and universities, student retention strategies related to finances, public-private university partnerships, intellectual property and licensing of trademarks, ethics in higher education and emergency management at colleges and universities.
