LSU Economics’ Sudipta Sarangi Named to Editorial Board
BATON ROUGE – Gulf Coast Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Inc. Distinguished Professor of Business Administration Sudipta Sarangi has been appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Microeconomics. This is a new journal whose first issue is expected to come out in June.
In its call for submissions, the journal’s board states that it is seeking “high quality, analytically rigorous papers in all areas of microeconomics” and that theoretical and applied (or empirical) research is welcome. Additionally, reviews of books related to microeconomics will also be published by the journal.
Sarangi, whose research interests are industrial organization, applied game theory experimental economics and development economics, has been a member of LSU’s faculty since 2000. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2000.
The Department of Economics at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business offers courses that provide undergraduate and graduate students an intellectual challenge and strong analytic training and the tools to address the economic and social problems faced both domestically and internationally. The faculty’s dedication to quality teaching and research is reflected by numerous awards received and peer-reviewed scholarly articles published in high-quality economic journals. The Journal of Labor Research and the Journal of Macroeconomics, two highly regarded academic journals, are edited within the department.
