LSU University Recreation to Host Wilderness First Aid Course March 31
BATON ROUGE – LSU University Recreation, or UREC, will host a Wilderness First Aid course that will begin March 31 at the UREC Student Recreation Center located on the LSU campus.
The Wilderness First Aid, or WFA, course is fast paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. The course teaches caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge participants to integrate their learning.
Registration is underway at the UREC Student Recreation Center. The course fees are $200 for LSU students and UREC members and $225 for the public. Visit www.LSU.edu/UREC/adventure for more information, or email email@example.com for specific questions.
This course is available through the Wilderness Medicine Institute of the National Outdoor Leadership School that provides the highest quality education and information for the recognition, treatment and prevention of wilderness emergencies.
