LSU LBTC’s Mobile Classroom to Visit Kaplan

BATON ROUGE – Representatives from LSU’s Louisiana Business & Technology Center, or LBTC, and its partner organizations will be presenting free seminars focused on entrepreneurial training and small business development via the LBTC’s Mobile Classroom, March 20-21. The Mobile Classroom will be at Kaplan City Hall, 701 N. Cushing Ave in Kaplan, La.


Anyone interested is invited to attend both days, one day or just the seminars that appeal to them. Below is a list of the Mobile Classroom’s offerings at this stop.


Tuesday, March 20
9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.: Starting & Financing Your Business
10:45 a.m. - noon: Marketing 101
1 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.: Working with Your Bank to Get a Loan
2 p.m. - 3 p.m.: Expanding Your Business to International Markets


Wednesday, March 21
9 a.m. - 10 a.m.: Customer Service
10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.: How to Effectively Use Facebook for Your Small Business
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Growing Your Business Online

A United States Department of Agriculture Rural Business Enterprise grant supports the Mobile Business Classroom. Local partners include the Greater Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce, the City of Livonia, the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Louisiana State University, and the Southern University Ag Center. Other partners in the project include the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development-Rural Business Enterprise Grant Program, the Louisiana Municipal Association, the LSU AgCenter, Capital One, Louisiana Workforce Commission, Louisiana Public Facilities Authority, Louisiana Economic Development, and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center.
