BATON ROUGE – LSU and the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute will co-host the second annual LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses on Friday, March 23, at 11:30 a.m. at the Renaissance Hotel, located at 7000 Bluebonnet Boulevard.

The LSU 100 celebrates the success of former LSU students and recognizes the impact of LSU on the local, regional and national economy. A reception for the honorees will be held Thursday, March 22, at the Cook Hotel. Honorees will also be invited to share their experiences and successes with current LSU students in classrooms and student organization meetings.

Companies honored in the 2012 LSU 100 meet the following requirements:

  • Have been in business for five years or more
  • Have had verifiable revenues of $100,000 for 2008
  • Have a former LSU student as owner of at least 50 percent of the company or as chief executive officer, president or managing partner
  • Operate in a manner consistent with the mission of LSU and SEI

Jarett Rodriguez, associate director of SEI, said the inaugural LSU 100 was a tremendous success.

“We are hoping the event continues to grow,” Rodriguez said. “It is great to have the opportunity to bring former students back to campus and give current students the opportunity to interact with successful Tigers.”
