LSU Public Administration Institute’s Carole Jurkiewicz Coauthors Book
BATON ROUGE – Carole L. Jurkiewicz, Woman’s Hospital Distinguished Professor of Healthcare Management in LSU’s Public Administration Institute, has coauthored a book, titled “The Foundations of Organizational Evil.”
According to Jurkiewicz, the book is an examination of the concept of organizational evil, conceptually weaving the interchange between evil individuals, who ultimately create the organizational environment that is evil, and the elements of policy, culture and manipulations of the social environment.
The book also gives professionals, scholars and students a broad understanding of evil from a conceptual and practical perspective, while providing a better understanding of the potential relationships between organizational evil and various aspects of organizational functioning. In addition, the book integrates a philosophical and pragmatic understanding of organizational evil into a coherent approach to management and administration in the private, public and nonprofit sectors.
“The Foundations of Organization Evil” is available in both hardcover and paperback editions and can be purchased at http://www.mesharpe.com/mall/resultsa.asp?Title=The+Foundations+of+Organizational+Evil.
