Interview Opportunities Available at National Evacuation Conference

BATON ROUGE – The 2012 National Evacuation Conference will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans, La., and will run through Thursday, Feb. 9. As part of this important event, conference keynote speakers and hosts will be made available to the media for interviews.

 

A listing of dates and times when speakers will be available follows.

 

Feb. 8 - 9 a.m.

  • Stephen Flynn, professor of political science and founding co-director of the George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security at Northwestern University; former president of the Center for National Policy
  • Brian Wolshon, director, Gulf Coast Center for Evacuation & Transportation Resiliency at LSU

Feb. 9 - 7:30 a.m.

  • Irwin Redlener, M.D., director of the National Center for Disaster Preparedness; clinical professor of population and family health, Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University; clinical professor of pediatrics, College of Physicians & Surgeons, Columbia University; and president and co-founder, Children’s Health Fund

Stephen Flynn’s media availability on Feb. 8 will be during a book signing he will hold at the event to promote the release of “The Edge of Disaster: Rebuilding a Resilient Nation.”

 

Media interviews will be conducted on the third floor of the Hilton near the Napoleon Ballroom.
