Former LSU Men’s Basketball Coach Dale Brown to Sign New Motivational Book at the Cook Hotel at LSU
BATON ROUGE – Former LSU men’s basketball coach Dale Brown will be at LSU on Saturday, Feb. 4, to sign his newly released motivational book, “Getting Over the Four Hurdles of Life.”
The signing will take place at the The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU, located at 3848 West Lakeshore Drive in Baton Rouge, from 10 a.m.-noon.
Brown, who coached the Tigers from 1972 to 1997, is widely recognized as one of the top motivational speakers in the United States. He is also well known as the recruiter and college coach of former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal.
Brown’s book is being billed as “one of the strongest, most inspiring works since Dr. Norman Vincent Peale published ‘The Power of Positive Thinking’ in 1952.”
The book identifies some of the main obstacles, or hurdles, that block the path to success, happiness and fulfillment. It prescribes ways of dealing with and overcoming these obstacles.
Brown illustrates his key points by telling inspiring stories of people who emerged victorious though the deck seemed to be stacked against them, for example, Albert Einstein, Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, O’Neal, Pete Maravich and J.K. Rowling. O’Neal, who was recruited by Brown and played for LSU in the early 1990s, wrote the introduction to the book.
With these stories, there are examples to follow to help to get over the vexing hurdles that obstruct the path to fuller, more satisfying lives.
