LSU School of Music to Host Benefit Concert on Sunday, Oct. 23, at First United Methodist Church in Downtown Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE – The LSU School of Music will host a benefit concert on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Boulevard, Baton Rouge.
The concert will be conducted by Lamar Drummonds, with LSU School of Music Interim Director and Professor Willis Delony on piano and Dennis Jesse on baritone.
Performances scheduled include “Symphony No. 5 in D Major” and “Reformation,” both by Felix Mendelssohn; “Five Mystical Songs,” by Ralph Vaughan Williams; and “Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor,” by Camille Saint-Saëns. There will also be performances by the First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir and members of the LSU A Cappella Choir.
Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit the School of Music’s scholarship fund.
