LSU Continuing Education Receives Approved Provider Status from Human Resource Certification Institute

10/13/2011 09:53 AM

BATON ROUGE – LSU Continuing Education was recently accepted as an Approved Provider by the Human Resource Certification Institute, or HRCI.

HRCI, established in 1976, is an internationally recognized certifying organization for the human resource profession.

The Approved Provider status allows LSU Continuing Education to offer quality human resource management courses for professionals desiring continuing professional education to meet recertification requirements. Additionally, LSU Continuing Education will be able to hold advanced human resource courses that qualify for HRCI strategic credit.

“The Approved Provider status recognizes the quality and contemporary relevance of the professional development programs offered by LSU,” said Courtland Chaney, an instructor for LSU Continuing Education who helped to develop several of the division’s management courses. “Courses approved by the HRCI will benefit individuals in Louisiana who need continuing education credit to maintain their professional credentials.”

HRCI, which is a non-profit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, exists for the purpose of developing and maintaining professional standards for the human resource field. This purpose is accomplished by defining and updating the body of knowledge in the human resource field, promoting self-development of individuals in the human resource field and credentialing those individuals who meet the education and experience requirements for certification.

LSU Continuing Education currently offers a Human Resource Management Certificate Program. For more information about the program, visit or contact Melissa Stafford at or call 225-578-1263.
