LSU’s Reilly Center to Host NPR’s Carl Kasell Monday, Oct. 3
BATON ROUGE – Co-host of NPR’s popular quiz show “Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me!” Carl Kasell will speak at an LSU Manship School of Mass Communication event, sponsored by the school’s Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs and WRKF, at the Journalism Building today at 7 p.m.
In addition, Kasell, whose talk is part of the Manship School’s Distinguished Speaker Series, will host a roundtable discussion with students at 4 p.m. in the Curet Room, Hodges Hall.
Because of the great demand for seats, reservations are required for both events.
For 30 years, Kasell anchored newscasts for NPR’s daily newsmagazine “Morning Edition,” a role he held since the program’s inception in 1979 until 2009. A veteran broadcaster, Kasell’s radio career spans more than 50 years. “Wait Wait ... Don’t Tell Me!” premiered in January 1998, and instantly became one of NPR’s most popular programs.
