LSU’s Reilly Center to Host NPR’s ‘Political Junkie’

BATON ROUGE – Ken Rudin, National Public Radio’s self-styled “Political Junkie,” will speak at an event sponsored by WRKF-FM and the Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs at LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication’s Journalism Building at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19.

In addition, Rudin will host a roundtable discussion with students at 4 p.m. in the Curet Room, located Hodges Hall.

Because of anticipated demand for seats, reservations are required for both events.

For nearly 20 years, Rudin has been the eyes and ears of NPR’s political coverage as political editor. Rudin focuses on all aspects of politics, from presidential elections, primaries, national conventions, debates and the general election. From congressional races to state offices, he has analyzed every congressional race in the nation since 1984.

In 2011, Rudin joined NPR’s StateImpact project. This local-national journalism initiative will add editorial resources and reporters to NPR-member stations in all 50 states, to better inform the public about the impact that actions of state governments have on citizens and communities.
