LSU's Robert Doolos Awarded Thomas A. Bilger Citation for Service by AACRAO

BATON ROUGE - LSU University Registrar Robert Doolos has been awarded the Thomas A. Bilger Citation for Service by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, or AACRAO, Board of Directors. The award will be presented to Doolos at the group's annual meeting in New Orleans on Wednesday, April 21.

The Thomas A. Bilger Citation for Service is awarded to an AACRAO member who has five or more years of service and has provided outstanding contributions to conferences and programs, special projects, task forces, committee assignments or other positions.

The award is conferred by the immediate AACRAO past president and a committee consisting of three to five past presidents. The committee chooses a recipient from submitted nominations.

In 2009, Doolos was named the co-chairman of the AACRAO Task Force on Association Governance American. The task force examined all aspects of AACRAO's governance structures, which includes the board of directors, bylaws, articles of incorporation and elections, and recommended changes to ensure that the association is running in an effective and accountable manner

AACRAO is a nonprofit, professional association of more than 10,000 higher education admissions and registration professionals who represent approximately 2,500 institutions in more than 30 countries. Its mission is to provide professional development, guidelines and voluntary standards to be used by higher education officials regarding the best practices in records management, admissions, enrollment management, administrative information technology and student services.
