LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander speaks at a Feb. 3 press conference to announce the College of Engineering's success in a record-breaking capital campaign to renovate Patrick F. Taylor Hall and construct a new chemical engineering addition.
Gov. Bobby Jindal said that since the campaign, publicly launched in April 2013, saw more than 450 individual and corporate donors pledge $52.5 million in private funds to fulfilling and exceed the college’s commitment to a $100 million public/private partnership, the state would match the funds dollar for dollar.
Governor Bobby Jindal, joined by Electronic Arts Inc. executive Bryan Neider and LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander, formally dedicated the Louisiana Digital Media Center at LSU in a ceremony held on Feb. 10.
Stephen Beck, former LSU CCT director and current director of the LSU School of Music, said the 94,000-square-foot center - the permanent home of the EA North American Test Center and the LSU Center for Computation & Technology - represents "an important milestone for the university, and especially for the Center for Computation and Technology."
The LSU Board of Supervisors held their final meeting of 2013 on December 13.
