Karen Maruska, an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, was awarded a Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award, which provides seed money to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty and result in new funding opportunities. LSU Professor Neil Stoltzfus's math class met this week at Highland Coffees just outside the north gates of LSU. The summer definitely hit LSU's campus this week as scorching temperatures greeted students who returned to campus for both sessions of summer classes.
