LSU, through the Office of Equity, Diversity & Community Outreach (pictured above), has been awarded two prestigious awards for its diversity initiatives - the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine and the Greater Baton Rouge Society for Human Resource Management’s Excellence in Diversity Award. LSU is gearing up for the holidays with decorations around campus. The university will hold its annual Candlelight Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 5-6 p.m. to honor the holiday traditions of Christmas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah in the Claude L. Shaver Theatre in the Music & Dramatic Arts Building. Hundreds of American white pelicans, some of the largest birds in North America, descend upon the LSU lakes as they head south in search of food for the winter.
