This Week in Pictures | 09/22/2012 - 09/28/2012

On Sept. 27, LSU hosted the third in a series of Presidential Election Forums. The forums are meant to promote civil, but lively discussions, and to help develop a better understanding of the issues. Students, faculty and staff are invited to join in on the conversation by using the hashtag #LSUvotes on Twitter. Held in the Holliday Forum, LSU's third Presidential Election Forum was on foreign policy. The in-person panel included LSU political science professors (from left to right) Harry Mokeba, David Sobek and Daniel Tirone, and was moderated by Todd Miller (far right). The Presidential Election Forum panel on foreign policy included LSU Manship School of Mass Communication and Honors College graduate Aly Neel, a freelance journalist and women's rights activist, appearing via Skype from Istanbul, Turkey.
LSU held its annual Study Abroad Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 25, and Wednesday, Sep. 26, in the Union Cotillion Ballroom. The fair offered students, parents, staff and faculty members the opportunity to explore all the programs LSU has to offer. LSU offers students many options to study abroad. Students can participate in year- or semester-long programs at universities in each state within the United States, as well as Guam, Puerto Rico, Canada and more than 40 countries worldwide, with credits from those universities transferring back to LSU. The Center for Academic Success recently held its uExcel series. The workshops were designed to help students excel in introductory level courses with each geared toward a specific subject - math, chemistry, biology and social sciences.
