Storm clouds fly over LSU's Memorial Tower during an afternoon thunderstorm on campus. The LSU STRIPES program, or Student Tigers Rallying, Interacting and Promoting Education and Service, shows incoming students what it really means to be an LSU Tiger. Key components include academic success, history and traditions, involvement, leadership development and student services. The LSU Student Union Theater will present "Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass" on Sunday, Aug. 26, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the 2012-13 edition of the Union Theater Presents series.
On Thursday, Aug. 9, new and transfer undergraduate and graduate students participated in the International Student Orientation at the Claude Shaver Auditorium in the Music & Dramatic Arts Building. New LSU international students learned about their student status, campus safety, the code of student conduct, course scheduling and registration, how to get involved in student activities, the International Hospitality Foundation and the International Cultural Center during international student orientation. In the fall of 2011, LSU had more than 1,600 international undergraduate and graduate students, the majority of which were graduate students.
