LSU Continuing Education, in partnership with the LSU Department of Computer Science and Red Stick Robotics, recently offered high school students a unique summer experience, a Land Robotics course. The Land Robotics course focused on VEX-based robotics and Robot C programming language. Students interacted with faculty on real-life research and toured facilities to see projects in action. The Land Robotics course is part of Tiger University, a series of academically engaging summer courses in a college-like environment. The hands-on Land Robotics course gives students insight into computer programming and engineering and allows them to explore an existing interest in robotics. At the conclusion of the Land Robotics course, five teams of two competed in the Quad using VEX robots to earn points and certificates.
LSU recently held one of the Freshman Family Orientation Sessions. The Family Orientation aides family members in helping students make better decisions about academic and campus life choices. LSU's Italian-inspired stucco buildings in the Quad feature many of the university's distinctive archways joined by columns.
