The Landolt Astronomical Observatory is located on the roof of Nicholson Hall. Once a month, the observatory holds a free public observance of various planets and the moon. Lush foliage, including pink crepe myrtles, make LSU one of the most beautifully landscaped college campuses in the country. Clouds passing over the Memorial Tower during the summer on campus.
