Jamie Mascari (right) was named the winner of LSU’s eProcurement system's naming contest. Everyone who suggested the winning name, LSU GeauxShop, was entered into a drawing, and Mascari’s name was pulled to win an LSU gift basket, presented by Marie Frank (left), executive director of Procurement Services at LSU. Members of the LSU GeauxShop core team and user group spent two days testing the university’s new e-procurement system to find ways to make it user-friendly for the campus community. LSU GeauxShop will transform the university’s purchasing process with a one-stop shopping environment in much the same way as typical Internet shopping sites. Built in 1923 and dedicated as a memorial to Louisianians who died in World War I, the Memorial Tower is a 175-foot campanile, or bell tower. The cornerstone in front of the tower was excavated from the ruins of LSU's first campus near Pineville, when it was known as the Seminary of Learning of the State of Louisiana.
