He was presented with a plaque by LSU Chancellor Michael Martin (right) and LSU Interim Vice Chancellor of Research & Economic Development Thomas Klei (left). LSU will honor its proud military heritage with a Memorial Day ceremony at noon on May 30 on the Parade Ground. The LSU Aircraft Memorial, a T-33 "T-Bird" jet, stands as a memorial to all LSU graduates who have lost their lives while defending the nation during the jet age.
Construction nears completion on a new five-story Choppin Hall Annex. The 85,348-square-foot building will add 63 percent expansion of laboratory space to the current facility and house part of the chemistry department, the materials science initiative and a consolidated clean room facility. Construction is nearing completion on LSU's new parking garage that is part of the "Union Square" concept. The new garage will add more than 700 parking spots and will also house the new two-story bookstore, Women's Center and African-American Cultural Center. Construction continues on the Louisiana Digital Media Center along South Stadium Drive. Once completed, the 94,000-square-foot building will be home to 600 video game development workers and LSU’s Center for Computation & Technology.
