LSU Chancellor Michael Martin (pictured) hosted Gregory Stephanopoulos, professor of chemical engineering at MIT, on Thursday, Feb. 16, for his talk, “Metabolic Engineering: Synthetic Chemistry of the 21st Century,” at the Shaver Theater in LSU’s Music & Dramatic Arts Building as part of the Chancellor’s Distinguished Lectureship Series. Gregory Stephanopoulos (pictured), professor of chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, reviewed the foundations of metabolic engineering as well as its evolution over its short 20-year lifespan during his talk as part of the Chancellor’s Distinguished Lectureship Series. As part of his Chancellor’s Distinguished Lectureship Series visit, Gregory Stephanopoulos met with faculty and students to answer questions, network and make connections with those pursuing similar avenues of study.
LSU Career Services held the Spring 2012 Career Expo on Thursday, Feb. 9, and Friday, Feb. 10, in the Student Union. LSU's largest recruiting event, the Career Expo draws hundreds of recruiters and about 2,000 students and alumni. There are opportunities for students in all fields and at all levels to network with professionals; learn about career options and graduate and professional programs; find out about open jobs; and generally explore their intended career fields. Students walking through campus on one of the many rainy days this week.
