LSU Student Government hosted this semester’s first "Chat with the Chancellor" with LSU Chancellor Michael Martin in the LSU Student Union’s Live Oak Lounge on Thursday, Sept. 29. Vice Chancellor and CFO Eric Monday; Vice Chancellor for Student Life and Enrollment Services Kurt Keppler; and Associate Director for Recruitment, Communications, Programs & Campus Tours Mandy Hoffman joined LSU Chancellor Michael Martin at "Chat with the Chancellor" on Thursday, Sept. 29. LSU’s Emaan Abdelbaki and Holly Cullen, Louisiana State Representative Patricia Smith, Louisiana State Senator Yvonne Dorsey, and AT&T’s Ben Dube and Summer Tullier unveil the cover of the new telephone book featuring LSU’s Love Purple, Live Gold campaign.
The Golden Band from Tigerland, Golden Girls and LSU cheerleaders performed at one of the most anticipated events of the fall semester - Fall Fest 2011 - the university's official welcome back celebration. Members of the Golden Band from Tigerland march into the Quad to officially kick off Fall Fest 2011. The LSU cheerleaders joined the Golden Band from Tigerland and the Golden Girls to kick off Fall Fest 2011.
Students enjoyed the wonderful weather in the Quad during Fall Fest. Members of several LSU sororities, including Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Phi Mu, Pi Beta Phi and Zeta Tau Alpha, performed a unity step during Fall Fest. Members of LSU's Zeta Phi Beta chapter perform during the Love Purple, Live Gold Yard Show at Fall Fest.
KLSU and LSU's student media organizations had their own table at Fall Fest. LSU Fall Fest sponsors thrilled the crowd by throwing out hundreds of T-shirts and souvenirs. LSU's version of Waldo - Waldeaux - roamed the crowd as part of the inaugural LSU SCVNGR Fall Fest trek.
