As part of LSU's "Civility Week" activities, on Sunday, Sept. 11, LSU held a Remembrance, Walk and Candlelight Vigil in recognition of the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. After gathering in Free Speech Plaza, participants in the Sept. 11 Remembrance, Walk and Candlelight Vigil were led by LSU's Pershing Rifles along Tower Drive, in front of the LSU War Memorial and Memorial Tower, as they proceeded to the Greek Amphitheater for the candlelight vigil. In addition to LSU's Remembrance, Walk and Candlelight Vigil, the university's Wesley Foundation sponsored a walk through the Enchanted Forest next to the Greek Amphitheater in honor of Sept. 11.
The LSU campus reflected on the 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 tragedy with a Remembrance, Walk and Candlelight Vigil. Speakers at the event included LSU Chancellor Michael Martin, LSU Student Government President Cody Wells and Louisiana State Fire Marshall "Butch" Browning. Nicholas Pierce, a member of LSU's Muslim Student Association, was one of the guest speakers at the Sept. 11 Remembrance, Walk and Candlelight Vigil in the Greek Amphitheater. LSU Career Services sponsored the fall Career Expo on Wednesday, Sept. 14, and Thursday, Sept. 15, in the LSU Student Union. The two-day Career Expo was broken down into job categories, with representatives from companies in the business and liberal arts fields, and graduate schools on campus on Sept. 14; and representatives from companies in the engineering and science & technology fields on campus on Sept. 15. The Career Expo is LSU's largest recruiting event and allows students in all fields and at all levels to network with professionals; learn about career options and graduate and professional programs; find out about open jobs; and generally explore their intended career fields. The LSU Student Union Art Gallery sponsored a print and poster sale by the Global Prints & Poster Sale Co. from Sept. 12 through Sept. 16, one of several sales during the fall semester.
