Concert cellist turned technology entrepreneur Margo Drakos was the keynote speaker at the LSU College of Music & Dramatic Arts' convocation. Drakos is the co-founder and chief operating officer of InstantEncore.com, a platform providing 21st-century Internet-based tools to performing arts groups. The LSU College of Music & Dramatic Arts' convocation allows students, faculty, staff and community partners to gather and hear from college leaders and learn more about the college’s plans and goals for the coming school year.
On Friday, Aug. 26, E. J. Ourso College of Business Dean Eli Jones welcomed faculty, staff, students and donors to a ribbon cutting ceremony unveiling new workstations, which run the Bloomberg Professional service platform in the SMART Lab. Letitia O'Connor, SMART Lab assistant director, outlines how students will be able to utilize the lab's 12 workstations running the Bloomberg Professional service platform. The Securities Markets Analysis Research and Trading, or SMART, Lab recreates a simulated interactive trading floor where students gain experience in the fast-paced world of securities analysis, research and trading.
