During a ceremony on Tuesday at LSU’s Lod Cook Alumni Center, Gov. Bobby Jindal officially signed GRAD Act 2.0 into law, providing more administrative flexibility to public universities in the state. Chancellor Mike Martin praised all those involved in the passing of the GRAD Act during the bill signing ceremony at the Lod Cook Alumni Center, and promised that LSU would hold up its end of the bargain. Rob Mann, an assistant professor in the Department of Geography and Anthropology, and a group of LSU students are excavating Galveztown, a former Spanish colony near Bayou Manchac in Ascension Parish.
The LSU community responded to the tornado that ravaged Tuscaloosa, Ala., on April 27 with the Tigers for the Tide relief effort. The collected items were delivered to the University of Alabama on July 13. LSU students gather for the midnight screening of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2." The LSU Campus Lake near Miller Hall.
