LSU held a special Memorial Day remembrance service on Monday, May 30, at the War Memorial, located on the Parade Grounds. Cadets of the Ole War Skule President-Elect Norman Deumite, left, and LSU Chancellor Michael Martin, right, presented Janis Hays Carse with a plaque honoring her 32-year-old son, Nathan, who earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from LSU in 2007. Nathan Case died Feb. 8 while serving with his Army unit in Afghanistan. Nathan Carse's name was added to the LSU War Memorial's Wall of Honor, which bears the names of LSU students, faculty, staff and alumni reported missing in action or who have died in military conflicts from World War II to the present.
During Monday's ceremony, co-hosted by LSU and the Cadets of the Ole War Skule, those in attendance honored all veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country. LSU recently recognized employees who have reached 25 years of service during the annual Employee Recognition Banquet, held May 4 at the Lod Cook Alumni Center. LSU recently recognized employees who have reached 30 years of service during the annual Employee Recognition Banquet, held May 4 in the Lod Cook Alumni Center.
LSU recently recognized employees who have reached 35 years of service during the annual Employee Recognition Banquet, held May 4 in the Lod Cook Alumni Center. LSU recently recognized School of Coast and Environment Associate Professor Lawrence J. Rouse Jr., who reached 40 years of service, during the annual Employee Recognition Banquet, held May 4 in the Lod Cook Alumni Center. LSU recently recognized employees who have reached 45 years of service during the annual Employee Recognition Banquet, held May 4 in the Lod Cook Alumni Center.
