On Feb. 8, LSU students, faculty and staff attended a panel discussion on “Unrest in North Africa and the Middle East” to learn more about the causes of the popular demonstrations against North African and Middle Eastern governments. During the panel discussion, sponsored by the LSU International Studies Program, Mark Gasiorowski covered possible scenarios that could emerge in Egypt once there is a resolution to the protests and what those scenarios would mean for U.S. policy. “Unrest in North Africa and the Middle East” focused on the causes of the popular demonstrations against North African and Middle Eastern governments and explored some implications of these events for both the region and the United States.
The Career Expo was a two-day event on Wednesday, Feb. 9, and Thursday, Feb. 10, in the LSU Student Union Ballroom. Representatives from various fields met with students and alumni during the annual event. The Career Expo provides students the opportunity to to network with professionals, learn about career options and graduate and professional programs, find out about open jobs and explore their intended career fields. The Career Expo is LSU's largest recruiting event, drawing hundreds of recruiters and about 2,000 students and alumni.
