During a visit to LSU's campus, Troy Middleton III, grandson of former LSU President Lt. Gen. Troy Middleton, and his family visited Hill Memorial Library to view photos, military medals, swords and personnel files. LSU’s Middleton Library is named for Lt. Gen. Middleton. The LSU chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society held its Fall 2010 Induction Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 8, at the Nelson Memorial Building. Gathering at the LSU Phi Kappa Phi fall induction ceremony are chapter officers Leigh Clemons, vice president; Krisanna Machtmes, secretary; Ken Paxton, membership chair; Ruth Patrick, awards advisor; Witoon Prinyawiwatkul, treasurer; Michael Collins, student vice president; Kathryn Gayle, student vice president; and Richard Vlosky, president. Wheel of Fortune's Wheelmobile was on campus on Monday, Nov. 15, in front of the LSU Student Union. Wheel of Fortune fans had the opportunity to play a simulated version of the game in the LSU Student Union Theater on Monday, Nov. 15, as part of the Wheelmobile's stop in Baton Rouge.
LSU opened its doors to the public on Saturday, Nov. 13, for LSU Day — a free, fun-filled day of exploration and discovery showing off LSU's rich history, current offerings and goals for the future. LSU's Tiger Marching Band draws a crowd Saturday morning during the opening ceremony for LSU Day at the University Recreation complex. Visitors to LSU Day could examine various specimens on display in the fields of science, technology, research and more.
The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine's Wildlife Hospital of Louisiana demonstrated how it treats injured animals, most of which are birds of prey. Climbers could reach new heights on LSU Day by climbing the University Recreation rock wall. Numerous animals were part of the LSU AgCenter's AgMagic Animal Farm experience at LSU Day, where visitors could see, touch and learn about farm animals and their role in Louisiana agriculture.
