LSU researchers receive stem cell grant

Two local researchers have been awarded a $370,000 National Institutes of Health grant to investigate new methods of storing stem cells by freezing them.

Louisiana State University researcher Kalliat T. Valsaraj recently received the Charles E. Coates Memorial Award, which is jointly awarded by the Baton Rouge chapters of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Chemical Society.
