LSU Campus Under Bomb Threat

Campus has returned to normal operations

Monday, September 17, 2012, 10:50 p.m.

 

All campus building have been returned to normal operations and the campus is now open for students, faculty and staff. All classes and events scheduled for Tuesday, Sept.18 will be held as planned, and university employees and students should plan to return to their normal schedules on Tuesday, including the LSU Lab School and the LSU Child Care Center. The investigation related to the origin of the call is still ongoing by the LSU Police Department and supported by multiple law enforcement agencies.

Bomb Threat Update

Monday, September 17, 2012, 9:40 p.m.

 

LSU and law enforcement personnel continue to methodically search the campus and have been returning buildings to normal operations throughout the evening.  There are fewer than 20 buildings left to search, and LSU will continue to update the campus community as information becomes available.  Please continue to monitor www.lsu.edu, university social media outlets, and broadcast email for updates.

 

 

Residential Life, Dining and UREC Now Open

Monday, September 17, 2012, 7:00 p.m.

 

All Residential Life facilities have been deemed ready to return to normal operations, and students living there can return. Also, The 5 and 459 Commons dining halls have been deemed ready to return to normal operations and will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. this evening. UREC has been cleared as well and will be open from 6:30 to 11 p.m. this evening. Notifications on other campus facilities will be made as appropriate. Keep your travels on campus restricted to these facilities only until further notice.

 

 

Evacuation Still in Effect

LSU personnel and law enforcement continue to search campus buildings. Buildings deemed ready to return to normal operations will be determined on a building-by-building basis. Campus evacuation is still in effect.

 

 

Bomb Threat Update

LSU Police, with support from multiple law enforcement agencies, continues to investigate a bomb threat on the LSU campus. The evacuation of the LSU campus is still in effect. Campus buildings are currently being searched by LSU personnel with support of law enforcement. Buildings deemed ready to return to normal operations will be determined on a building-by-building basis.

All events on the LSU campus have been cancelled for the remainder of the day as LSU Police, supported by multiple law enforcement agencies, continue to investigate a bomb threat that prompted the evacuation of the LSU campus this morning. It is important for all members of the LSU community -- faculty, staff and students -- to remain off campus unless specifically instructed to return.

LSU continues to investigate the bomb threat reported earlier today. The LSU Emergency Operations Center (LSU EOC ) was activated earlier today and is monitoring the situation. Please stay off campus unless otherwise directed to return. Check www.lsu.edu for updates.

 

 

Bomb Threat Reported on LSU Campus, Please Evacuate Area

Monday, September 17, 2012, 11:32 a.m.

 

The LSU Police Department is investigating the report of a bomb threat on LSU's campus.  Campus has been asked to evacuate as calmly and quickly as possible.

 

No specific location has been identified and parish 11 has been called. The LSU website, www.lsu.edu will continue to be updated as more information becomes available. If anyone has information, please contact LSU PD at 225-578-3231.
