Web Banner Advertising

In addition to any and all other express conditions specified by LSU and unless specifically otherwise approved by LSU, in general and or on a case-by-case basis, all banner advertising incorporated, placed on and/or otherwise affiliated with the [LSU Website] shall comply with the following general guidelines and restrictions:

Any and all advertisements on the [LSU Website] that incorporate outside links to other non-LSU pages shall either link to an informational transfer page (the "Transfer Page") that will allow the end-user the option of clicking through to the advertising party's home page or returning to the [LSU Website]; or if a new, smaller browser window appears on the screen, the window shall display a short message noting that the user is leaving [LSU Website]. Within a few seconds, the resulting site may appear in the new browser window. The short message shall read as follows:
"You are leaving [LSU Website]. You will now access (name of advertising party's site). The banner advertisement and link to the new site does not constitute or imply an endorsement by Louisiana State University or the [LSU department]. You are subject to the privacy policy of the new site."
Any and all outside links from the [LSU Website] shall link first to a Transfer page as described above, and then only to the home page of the advertising party and may not deep-link directly to any non-LSU page that primarily promotes specific products and/or services rather than identifying the advertising party itself.
All advertisements on [LSU Website] will be static, non-moving banner ads.
The focus of all content on banner ads shall be the identity of the advertising party rather than specific products and/or services of the advertising party.
Any home page to which an end-user clicks through from a Transfer page must allow the end-user to return to the [LSU Website], without trace of any frames and/or pop-up advertising that originates from the home page of the advertising party.

On a case-by-case basis, LSU may, in its sole discretion, consider and individually approve proposed banner advertisements that are not in strict compliance with certain of the foregoing general guidelines and restrictions.

Terms

[LSU Website] - Substitute applicable departmental website (e.g. LSU Tigers Home Page)

[LSU Department] - Substitute applicable LSU Department (e.g. LSU Athletic Department)

Approval

Requests for banner ad use shall be directed to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administrative Services.
