Campus Committee on Sustainability

In the Fall of 2015, the Campus Committee on Sustainability (CCS) was formed in order to begin an overall planning process for sustainability at LSU. The Committee’s mission is to identify short and long-term goals related to sustainability for LSU in the areas of energy efficiency, green building, landfill diversion/recycling, transportation, food, procurement, forests/grounds, and communication. These areas are each represented by Subcommittees, which are currently meeting to identify goals that will be incorporated into a Strategic Plan for Sustainability, and also considered for the LSU Master Plan update.

The CCS is also working on updating LSU’s greenhouse gas emissions baseline inventory from 2009, which can be found here: www.mdpi.com/2071-1050/2/7/2117/pdf, and will publish those results on this website when complete. The goal is to complete the GHG inventory update by September 2016.
