Description
The position involves interviewing people via telephone and accurately entering responses into a computer-based data collection system. The questions typically involve a variety of business, political and economic issues. Accurate data entry is extremely important in this position. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in survey research for a variety of fields, including mass communication, political science, sociology, and marketing.
Requirements

Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to communicate well over the phone.

Must have excellent reading and pronunciation skills.

Must be friendly, outgoing and have a conversational tone of voice.
- Must be able to follow set procedures including the ability to read scripts verbatim.
- Must be willing and able to sit for prolonged periods (at least 40-50 minutes).
Pay
Pay is competitive. Most interviewers make between $7.25 and $8 per hour based on performance and experience.
Hours
Hours differ for students and non-student workers. The hours available for student workers are Monday through Friday 5pm to 9pm, Saturdays 10am to 6pm, and Sundays Noon to 6pm. Weekday shifts are occasionally available on a limited as needed basis. The position requires a minimum of 10 hours per week, with a maximum of 20 hours per week for students. Hours for non-student workers are flexible.
