The Rader Family
Bryan and Katherine Rader joined the LSU Family Association Council this summer, after attending a send-off party in Dallas, Texas. Their son, Alex, is an incoming freshman majoring in Biological Engineering, attending E2 camp and enjoying all LSU has to offer.
“As an LSU alumnae and new LSU parent, I hope to assist LSU and the Family Council in any way that I can,” Katherine stated. Family Council members lead the LSU Family Association by communicating available LSU resources to parents and students, providing special feedback to LSU staff, and promoting philanthropy efforts among parents.
While a senior in high school, Alex was invited to LSU’s Scholarship Weekend, where he was selected to be a Stamps Scholar. The Stamps Leadership Scholars Award program is the top scholarship opportunity available at LSU, where recipients receive the full cost of attendance for four years, as well as a potential stipend for enrichment experiences. Alex feels confident that he has the ability to make a difference on the LSU campus. This experience inspired the Raders to get involved at LSU through the LSU Family Council.
The family wants to give back to LSU because of the university’s “outstanding job” of welcoming their student. Katherine said, “Bryan and I are humbled by the generosity of the Stamps Foundation and LSU for selecting our son as a Stamps Scholar. We want to give back to LSU and thought that becoming Family Council members would be a good start.”
