Fall Fest
On Friday, September 30, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., LSU will celebrate Fall Fest 2011 in the Quadrangle. An LSU tradition and the chancellor’s official “Welcome Back” to the University, Fall Fest hosts more than 8,000 students, faculty, and staff each year.
As in the past, LSU Fall Fest will provide free hamburgers, sausage po-boys, pizza, chips, soft drinks, bottled water, and ice cream. Entertainment, displays, and exhibits will showcase many of the things that make LSU so special.
We will also reaffirm our commitment to sustainability by recycling and composting waste generated at the event.
We hope to see you in the Quad September 30!
History of Fall Fest
LSU Fall Fest, like a number of other events, was introduced to the campus as part of LSU’s efforts to “rekindle the spirit” of the University and its many traditions. It is planned and held as the University’s official “welcome back” for new students, staff, and faculty and returning members of the University family.
Through the years, LSU Fall Fest has established itself as one of LSU’s most anticipated traditions. More than 8,000 students, faculty, and staff come together in the Quadrangle to enjoy the festivities and officially kick off the new academic year.
The generous contributions of local businesses and friends of the University make LSU Fall Fest possible.
