"Jeopardy!"

Chapter members, inductees and guests at the Spring 2007 Induction Ceremony for Phi Alpha Theta enjoyed a challenging bout of "Jeopardy"-style trivia featuring, as contestants, professors John Henderson, Christine Kooi, and Mark Thompson.  Questions ranged from American political history to sports to "potent potables," with Prof. Henderson walking away with the victory laurels.  Congratulations!

The Zeta Eta Chapter inducted a record number of new members this year, and has elected new officers for the 2007-8 academic year: Paige Payne (President), Kellie Johnson (Vice President/Historian), and John-Michael Early (Secretary/Treasurer).  Also at the ceremony, the chapter announced the winner of this year's winner of the Roselyn Boneno award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, Prof. Reza Pirbhai.

Phi Alpha Theta is still actively recruiting new members. Activities during 2006-7 have included informal get-togethers with faculty members, Movie Nights ("All the King's Men," "The Last King of Scotland"), the Student Organizations Fair and an informational seminar on how to apply to Grad School.  Student members (both graduate and undergraduate students) delivered research papers at the 2007 Louisiana Historical Association meeting, and helped out with the presentation of  the Fleming Lecture series.

Now is the time to join, if you are interested in being part of our activities during 2007-8!
